Day 20 – Halloween Parade

20th February 2023 | Tags: Berlin 2023

Today was another workday, besides an event in the evening. In the morning, everyone went to work to their corresponding office. Albin, Michel and Dila were working for HF2 at the Nomadworks co-working office. Matteo was at the GZA office, whilst Ainhoa and Timothe were headed to Janosch Amstutz his home to work from there. Everyone could leave work a bit early today, since it was Halloween today.

There was a parade in the evening in the center of New York, which apparently was worth seeing, since it is a lot bigger compared to other Halloween events in for example in Switzerland. Obviously, we couldn’t miss out on this. Since Matteo and Michel wanted to quickly hit the gym before the parade started at 9PM, we split the group up. The others were at home eating dinner and preparing for the parade. After eating, most of us went to the parade and stayed there for around 2 hours.

Loud music, costumes, a lot of people and good food made this experience very unique and enjoyable. As a comparison, it was similar to a Halloween themed Street parade with less people. There were a lot of groups that had their own Halloween theme and costumes. Sometimes, these groups would even walk around with cars and trucks, like what you can see at the Street Parade in Zurich. We noticed, there were tons of policemen watching over the happenings of the parade. In general, you could say that this parade really matched our expectations of New York Events, since everything was a bit bigger, louder and had more action than in Switzerland.

Mr. D offered us some Doughnuts and cookies, which were very delicious. Then we went to visit the following classes.

  • History class
  • Chinese class
  • Italian class
  • Spanish class
  • Design Engineering class
  • Music class
  • Physical Science class
  • Volleyball practice
  • Gym
  • Outdoor Sport area

In the Spanish class, Ainoha took over the role as a teacher for several minutes, which was funny. In the Music class they played an orchestra for us, it was really impressing.
