Day 19 - Normal working day

Today was a normal working day. We left for the subway at 8:30 in the morning. Jia En, Noè, and I went to NeueHouse, while the others headed to their own co-working space. Thanks to Swissnex, Jia En now also has access to the NeueHouse coworking space. Swissnex is an initiative of the Swiss government aiming to connect Switzerland with innovation hubs worldwide. They provide networking and collaboration opportunities, particularly for startups, researchers, and young talent in science and technology.
I received a new assignment today: to find companies in the USA and Canada with a funding of at least 50 million that are active in the fields of photonics and advanced manufacturing. I worked on this task throughout the day and noticed that there are significantly more relevant companies and startups in the USA compared to Canada. This could be due to the larger market size, a higher availability of venture capital, and the strong presence of tech hubs like Silicon Valley and Boston, which attract and foster innovation.
For lunch, we enjoyed a variety of Asian dishes – baos, dumplings, egg tarts, and lots of other delicious food. We ordered so much that we had leftovers to take away. In the afternoon, Jia En and I visited the Supreme store because I wanted to buy a hat for the Gym. I ended up getting a few items and a gift for a colleague.
In the evening, we made burgers, and Noe, Colin, and I went to the gym together. After the workout, GianLuca surprised us with delicious lava cakes, which everyone loved and enjoyed. Props to GianLuca 🙂
